Job Description

Java Developer Salary range: 100,000 - 138,000 benefits Kamis is in search of Java Developers for a new project supporting the US Federal Government. This is a hybrid position with one day per week onsite in Washington DC and one day per month in Arlington. Selected candidates will be required to pass a thorough federal background investigation in order to receive a Public Trust clearance. Candidates with an existing or prior Public Trust are desired, but not required. Job Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and operational support of a custom-built system that enables client to carry out mission-critical business functions. Demonstrate proficiency in Java for building applications, automating processes, and developing backend services. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with industry best practices. Utilize relevant frameworks and libraries such as Spring MVC and Spring Boot. Develop and integrate APIs to support system interoperability. Apply foundational knowledge of unit testing and debugging tools (e.g., pytest, unittest for Python; JUnit for Java). Collaborate using version control systems like Git to manage codebases and contribute to team projects. Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing. Take ownership of technical designs, code development, and component-level testing to ensure functionality aligns with specifications. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of skilled professionals, contributing to a collaborative and innovative project environment. Qualifications At least 2 years of experience developing web applications using Java as a primary language. 3-5 years of experience is desired. Bachelors degree (BABS) or equivalent experience (extra four years in lieu of a degree). Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer with the ability to pass an in-depth federal background investigation. Candidates requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Java (including frameworks like Spring MVC, Spring Boot). Minimum 2 years of experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, or similar. Minimum 2 years of experience using HTML5 and CSS3 to build responsive web applications.
