Job Description
This is an Interdisciplinary position that can be filled by the 0801 (General Engineering), 0830 (Mechanical Engineering), 0850 (Electrical Engineering), 1515 (Operations Research, or the 1550 (Computer Science) series. The series that the selected applicant will be placed into depends on their qualifications. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-1213 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist providing technical expertise in technology development to evaluate requirements, guide weapons system development, or ensure maximum information sharing on technical processes throughout projects. Examples of qualifying experience may include: anticipating potential areas where advanced technology can be applied andor developed to improve Naval warfighting capabilities; providing technical leadership and support to a group of engineersscientists; applying broad technical and operational knowledge of ships, ship systems, andor other areas of complex platform integration.
