Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. -AND- Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: providing leadership and oversight at a directorates level -AND- (1) overseeing enterprise-wide Information Technology (IT) functions, including IT operations, cybersecurity, accessibility, information resource management, IT acquisition management. -AND- (2) providing oversight into cybersecurity program areas such as threat assessments, policy and architecture development, financial management, awareness and training, monitoring and providing evaluations of the effectiveness of cybersecurity measures. -AND- (3) ensuring that plans of action and milestones are in place to address identified vulnerabilities in a timely and effective manner. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of our mission, FLETC requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation for 3N-Critical Sensitive, High Risk as a condition of placement in this Top Secret position. This review may include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support andor tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs. Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and to attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Driving a vehicle may be required. Trips to other elements within the organization are routine and trips to other government agencies or contractor sites may be required. The position works with information processing workstations. Intense concentration and performance of duties at maximum capability is required to meet deadlines. No special physical effort is required. Work Environment: The majority of the work is performed in an office setting. The position must be able to make site visits to on-site and off-site locations. The position spends time in private or on public transportation in conjunction with travel to meetings and visits to other government offices or contractor facilities. Working hours are within the typical workday, however major and non-major program, projects, and IT systems may require overtime or weekend support. The work area involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Temperatures in computer and network communications facilities are controlled to accommodate the hardware and may necessitate exposure to uncomfortable conditions.
